On the 13th of October the year 2009, the finance committee voted on the America's Healthy Future Act, approving it also in March 2010, the Patients Protection and Affordable Care Act together with the Health Care Reform Improvements Bill was passed by the House of Representatives (Stolberg & Pear, 2010).

Implementation Stage

This stage is materialized when a policy, which is authorized, is overseen and enforced. This is accomplished by the appropriate agency of the government (Howard, 2005). In this stage, the agency charged with administering and enforcing the policy, is in all probability, required to make available the missing elements in addition to providing judgement over the objectives, schedules, program design, goals and reporting structures of the policy. In the case of the United States health care reform policy, the implementation stage was marked by the signing into law the proposed bill by the president. The activity which took place on the 23rd of march the year 2010 paved way for the provision of the phased introduction of the Patient Protection and affordable Care Act over a period of four years. Among the objectives of the program is to do away with a number of poor practices that coincide with health care insurance in addition to introducing low cost health care services.

Conclusion

Policy implemented at different levels of the society is a feature whose significance cannot be downplayed. Coupled with this, the need for procedural implementation of such policies is very obvious. form. The processes of implementing health care reform policy, just like it is in the case of other bills, follow through three major stages. This includes the formulation stage, the legislative stage and the implementation stage. These stages go hand in hand with the introduction of the bill into the house by the finance committee chairman Max Baucus, the numerous discussions, voting and amendments that were conducted over the bill and the eventual enforcement of the Patient Protection and affordable Care Act and other bills into law respectively.
