I have to keep in mind that when I am working with a team, I must consider their acceptable trade-offs as well. When I am a team member, my minimum standards should not set the team's minimum standards; I should be willing to give my maximum effort to ensure the success of the team. Therefore, I intend to complete or offer to take one two additional tasks after I have taken on the tasks that I feel reflect a fair share of the teamwork. I believe that this will help me contribute more fully to the team effort.

I believe that the specific and measurable tasks I have established are both achievable and reasonable. However, it is difficult to assess those aspects of the action plan when talking about a hypothetical project that will occur at some future point in time. At this point they seem both achievable and reasonable. There should not be any barriers to a more thorough investigation fo what a project entails or to completing two additional tasks.

The final component of a SMART plan is the timeliness component of it. One of the problems was that I was not meeting the deadlines and expectations set by the group members. Not until this project did I realize that squeaking into deadlines set by the group might cause stress, anxiety, and resentment in my team. In future projects, I intend to set and meet personal deadlines that are before the deadlines set by the team. This will ensure that, if something comes up, my work is still completed. It will also allow my teammates extra time to focus on their parts of the project.
