For example, in the Project Sustainability report management will play an important part in helping to ensure that everyone is following these practices. Evidence of this can be seen with it saying, "The Olympic Committee (OC) will have in place a Waste Management Plan for Venues and Villages outlining the procedures for waste management across the Games. Waste Management and Packaging Policies will underpin these with suppliers required to sign up to the principles set out in the Waste Management Plans. To help monitor the waste disposal practices being auctioned under key contracts, appropriate reports will be requested from suppliers involved with delivery in order to understand how Games related waste is being treated. In particular, through the procurement approaches the management aims to: 1) Reduce the amount of waste that is created and sent to landfill sites. Suppliers will be made aware to use no or minimal packaging in all of the goods procured. This will be built into the requirements and specifications where appropriate. 2) Make certain suppliers remove any packaging that is not required upon delivery for subsequent reuse or recycling. 3) Ensure suppliers are able to provide the OC with all necessary information about the recyclable content and packaging of goods supplied. 4) Request innovation from the supply chain to demonstrate their commitment to assisting the OC in minimizing waste through reducing packaging, eliminating non-recyclable waste and grouping deliveries wherever possible." To avoid these challenges, requires a commitment from stakeholders to continue with these practices for the lifetime of the location. This involves monitoring and continuously applying new technology into the program. If this can happen, there will be a concentrated effort on building off these changes to enhance the standard of living for everyone and dramatically reducing the environmental footprint.
